Daniele and Giulia’s wedding took place in July 2023, on the beach of Faruk Beach Club in Marina di Pietrasanta, in the heart of Tuscany.
Their story began in the most everyday place, a gym. After a few months, they moved in together, and in 2020 their love grew even stronger with the birth of their twins, Stefano and Cecilia.
I had the privilege of being part of their journey even before the wedding, capturing both their maternity session and their children’s first year of life. So when they asked me to be there for their wedding day, it was something truly special.
A clear vision from the very beginning
From the start, they knew exactly what they wanted:
a full-day coverage, from the preparations to the party, both photo and video.
The chosen venue, Faruk Beach Club, was something new for me as well. It was my first time photographing a wedding directly on the beach, and they decided to combine a civil ceremony with a symbolic sand ritual.
Planning a beach wedding: light, space and timing
A beach wedding brings incredible atmosphere, but also specific challenges, especially when it comes to light.
That’s why site visits and planning were essential. Together with the venue team and the couple, we carefully designed every moment of the day.
We chose to position the officiant with their back to the sea, so that Daniele and Giulia could face the horizon and the sunset during the ceremony. A simple decision, but one that made a huge visual difference.
Getting ready: two worlds, one story
The preparations took place in two nearby locations.
Giulia got ready at her parents’ home with the children, while Daniele prepared in their house, just a few steps away in the same garden.
This setup allowed us to work efficiently with a small team, two photographers and a videographer, covering both moments without stress.
One of the few logistical challenges was the transfer to the venue. In the middle of a summer Saturday, reaching Marina di Pietrasanta requires careful timing, and everything had to be planned in advance.
The beginning of the day
As often happens, the day started with the bride’s preparations.
I usually arrive early, even before everything is “perfect”. Those first moments are not always the images that end up in the final selection, but they are essential.
They help break the ice, allow people to get comfortable, and create the connection needed for the rest of the day.
While the second photographer stayed with Giulia during hair and makeup, I moved between the two locations, capturing Daniele’s preparation, including a small toast with friends and family.
The dress, the emotions, the first look
When Giulia was ready, it was time to put on the dress.
During this moment, I always prefer to leave space for a female photographer. It helps maintain a relaxed and intimate atmosphere, allowing the bride to feel completely at ease.
One of the most emotional moments of the day was when Giulia met her father, ready to walk down the aisle. Shortly after, with the final touches completed, we headed to the beach.
The ceremony on the sand
Daniele entered first, accompanied by his mother, welcoming the guests.
Then Giulia arrived with her father, walking towards the sea.
The ceremony combined a civil ritual with the symbolic sand ceremony, where the couple, together with their children, poured colored sand into a single vase.
A simple gesture, but deeply meaningful. Not just two lives coming together, but four, forming one family.
After the ceremony: light, freedom and real moments
After the ceremony, we took some time for couple portraits.
They didn’t want anything too posed. Instead, we chose a natural approach: walking along the beach, enjoying the moment, and letting everything happen naturally.
These are often the most authentic images, when couples finally have a moment to breathe and realize what just happened.
The sunset over the sea gave us the perfect light to frame those moments.
The reception and the celebration
Back at the venue, the aperitif began, followed by dinner inside the restaurant area of Faruk Beach Club.
During the evening, friends and witnesses organized games and surprises, creating a relaxed and joyful atmosphere.
After dinner, we returned to the beach for the cake cutting, set exactly in the same spot where the ceremony had taken place.
As the night went on, the party continued with laughter, music, and moments that truly reflect what a wedding is about: people, relationships, and shared memories.
