Among Vineyards, Natural Light, and Suggestive Moments Anna & Thomas – Villa Pacini, Monte San Quirico
Anna and Thomas are an English couple who chose Lucca and its rolling hills as the setting for their wedding, celebrated at Villa Pacini in Monte San Quirico.
The event was planned by the team at 2italia, with whom we coordinated throughout the entire preparation phase. We met the couple only a few days before the wedding, during the final venue walkthrough, but this did not affect the natural flow of the story we captured that day.
Coverage was complete, from the preparations to the cake cutting, following every moment with continuity and attention.
Preparations in the Same Location
Anna and Thomas both chose to get ready inside the villa. This allowed us to tell the preparations as a continuous narrative, following both of them without dividing time or focus.
The day began in the morning, with the bride and her bridesmaids getting ready in one of the villa’s largest rooms. The atmosphere was relaxed and joyful, filled with smiles, toasts, and anticipation. On the lower floor, the groom and his groomsmen prepared in the same spirit, creating two parallel stories unfolding side by side.
The Ceremony in the Gardens of Villa Pacini
The ceremony took place in the early afternoon, in the gardens in front of the villa. As English tradition often dictates, Thomas entered first, waiting for Anna at the altar.
Anna made her entrance accompanied by her parents and bridesmaids. The civil ceremony was interspersed with heartfelt speeches, making the moment deeply personal and shared.
Afterward, we quickly created the group portraits with family and friends, before leaving the couple some quiet time just for themselves.
Couple Portraits Among Gardens and Vineyards
The couple session took place within the villa’s gardens and in the adjacent vineyard.
Without forced poses or rigid direction, we allowed Anna and Thomas to move naturally, taking advantage of the afternoon light and the surrounding Lucca hills.
A Reception of Speeches and Celebration
After the confetti toss, the couple rejoined their guests for the aperitivo at the back of the villa. Dinner began in the late afternoon and, as often happens in English weddings, unfolded through a long alternation of courses and speeches.
This rhythm made the dinner feel more relaxed and engaging, transforming it into one of the central moments of the day.
When the Unexpected Becomes Part of the Story
As evening approached, just before the cake cutting, a small unexpected issue arose. The dessert table had been set up in a different area than originally planned, completely without lighting.
When the couple arrived, they chose not to move the setup. At that point, we turned the difficulty into an opportunity by asking the guests to turn on their phone flashlights to illuminate Anna and Thomas.
The result was an intimate and evocative atmosphere, as the couple cut the cake with a ceremonial sword, surrounded by a soft, shared light.
Dancing and the End of the Day
After the cake cutting and a bouquet toss — unusually launched from a first-floor window — the evening continued with dancing under the villa’s veranda.
The couple’s first dance, to the notes of Ed Sheeran, closed an intense day lived with emotion and natural ease.
